Traditional Malabari cuisine is served by a large number of restaurants in the UAE. Its tough to not see one of those every 100 meters in most of Dubai streets. Calicut notebook, from the very beggining, didn't want to be just another Malabari restaurant. It wanted the the diners to have a joyfilled, colourful memorable experience
Our people are our superheroes. On an average our restaurant sends ten plates, pots and glasses to a diner. When we run the restaurant at its full capacity, which happens all the time, we have a lot of demanding guests with us.
Tasty food is not unhealthy, that's how we roll at Calicut Let's talk about chicken. We use fresh chicken, that's about three times the price of frozen chicken. One may think that we are mad to spent that much as it's a business.

Our food team has gone to extraordinary lengths to bring in the dining experience, which was truly appreciated. Travel around the world, with ingredients and ethnic cuisines in mind,is one of the regular “job” with in the organisation. We’ve found little gems from the most “unusual”places such as remote tribal villages and the street vendors. We believe in the saying that “Anybody can cook”. That doesn’t mean that anybody and everybody is a great cook but a great cook can come from anywhere.
The freshness and quality of ingredients we use contribute considerably to the food we produce. Gathering recipes and learning techniques from the masters and generations helped developing our cooking method. The team worked round the clock to combine French, Thai, Japanese, Arabic and Indian cuisine to produce our signature dishes while keeping the traditional dishes in the good old fashion way to the core. We celebrate our food by serving to the most discerning people, our diners..

The kurathi kozhi was a chicken deep fried in coconut oil and spices famous to their region. Eat this hot and its absoultely superb. I wish it could be made spicier but its absolutely yummy. I took this on the servers recommendation. The chicken malabar curry was yummy too with the parothas. I normally like eating with my hand but this was finger licking good. Overall with the prices being so affordable this place is a common mans restaurant.
Truly the best food and taste is just out of the world experience and the turn down is the space quiet congested if you are planning to go out and eat at this place on Fridays or Saturdays maybe have to wait to just get a place but its just worth the wait waiters are really friendly the management could be seen just hanging around taking feed backs which you do nt find in most of the eateries …. food has that personal touch and taste truly should go and try at this place at least once
Have dined several times in this restaurant with family, food is authentic, fresh and tasty a family of 4 can easily fill their stomach in 150 dirhams. Service is a bit slow, but the free starters and salad will make up for the delay.
